Whenever employees meet the eligibility requirements for FMLA coverage, it is important to designate all appropriate leave as covered by FMLA. Leave types that can be used for FMLA covered leave are:
The Online Work/Leave System (OWLS) will automatically track the number of FMLA hours used by an employee if the timekeeper checks the FMLA check box when the calendar entry is made. Entries with the FMLA designation will show in the record with the “F” designation. For example, sick leave covered by FMLA will display on the OWLS calendar as “SF.”
