(POD) is a comprehensive resource for on-the-job success, long-term
career growth, and organizational well-being.
POD’s mission is
to foster positive change in individuals and organizations at UW, and
we achieve this through a variety of programs and services. Our website
connects you with all we have to offer, as well as with important resources.
- From
the menu on the left, you can access the POD Course
Catalog to view
our Quarterly Courses. These courses provide training on a variety
of topics, from communications to fiscal management and supervision.
Quarterly Courses are also listed in the Professional Development Quarterly,
which is distributed to UW employees.
- Under the Staff section
of the menu, you can learn about various professional and career development
opportunities. One such opportunity is POD’s Certificate Program,
which helps you focus your professional development in a particular
area. Another is SkillSoft e-Learning accounts, which are available
to staff at no cost and connect you with over 1,000 online courses
and a vast online knowledge database.
- Those in leadership
roles can connect with various programs in the Leaders
at All Levels section of the menu. Leadership development opportunities include the
Strategic Leadership Program, which provides comprehensive leadership
training for new or newly promoted supervisors at the UW. Also of potential
interest to leaders is the University Consulting Alliance, which offers
consultation expertise in many areas, including coaching, retreat facilitation,
conflict resolution, and teambuilding.
- Under Other POD Links,
you can access information about two programs that POD administers:
Tuition Exemption and Faculty Grants Management. You can also access
our Policies page, which includes information on the UW Release Time
Policy.
