During your first week:
Complete the UW's online New
Employee Orientation.
The
orientation includes key UW policies, how to obtain benefits information, worker
health and safety information, how to get your Staff ID Card (Husky Card),
and how to apply for crediting of prior UW or other Washington state service.
The orientation is required of all employees, except for the following:
Contact your supervisor if you are uncertain how to attend a new employee orientation for your area.
Follow the New
Employee Checklist.
A
comprehensive "to do" list for starting employment at the UW.
During your first three months:
Attend a New
Employee Coffee Hour.
Join us for coffee, snacks, prizes, and an opportunity to learn more about
programs and services available to UW staff.
Develop a training plan with your supervisor.
Register
for courses designed to help you learn UW policies and processes or improve
your communication, supervision, or project management skills.
