Leadership Development
Leadership Offerings
In order to meet leadership development needs across the University,
we are reassessing the Leadership Seminar Series and planning for future
leadership offerings. If you would like to contribute your ideas and
input, please
complete this survey.
In the meantime, POD continues to provide diverse opportunities for
leadership development at UW:
- The Strategic
Leadership Program (SLP) is a comprehensive four-day
workshop for UW supervisors. A completely revamped Level 1 program
was launched in 2007, and POD is currently developing Level 2
for veteran supervisors.
- POD’s Quarterly
Courses include dozens of offerings
designed to enhance leadership abilities.
- The University
Consulting Alliance provides leadership coaching, facilitation,
business development, and other services through professional,
experienced consultants that include both UW employees and pre-screened
local consultants.
- SkillSoft
e-Learning provides more than a thousand online courses
at no cost to UW employees. Topics include communication, leadership,
project management, and team building.
- Designed for current or aspiring supervisors, managers, and leaders,
the Supervisory
Skills Certificate offers a challenging and comprehensive
learning experience.
Leading Edge Newsletter
In addition to these offerings we publish a quarterly newsletter The
Leading Edge, targeted to leaders on campus. Like the
Leadership Seminar Series, The Leading Edge, is sent out
electronically during the fall, winter and spring quarters. Below
