SkillSoft e-Learning

UNDERSTAND

SkillSoft e-Learning accounts are now available to faculty and staff at no cost through December 31, 2009.

Originally sponsored by the Leadership, Community, and Values Initiative in partnership with Professional & Organizational Development, this free resource allows you to take advantage of over 1,000 online courses and a vast online knowledge database. Due to budget cuts, we are unable to renew the SkillSoft e-Learning contract for 2010.

With a SkillSoft e-Learning account, you can take as many courses as you like. Choose an online course or a quick refresher. Reference on-the-job guides, aim for performance-level mastery, or even work towards a credential. View the 1,000+ SkillSoft e-Learning course titles.

Is SkillSoft e-Learning right for me?

You don’t have to wait for a scheduled class—you can use SkillSoft e-Learning whenever you have the time or the need. You can pursue e-Learning from your computer, so there’s no travel time. In addition to courses, in-depth learning or quick reference information is available through job aids, skill briefs, and simulations or just take a portion of a course. Courses offer full narration, a valuable feature for audio learners and those with English as a second language.

With a SkillSoft e-Learning account, you can access more than 1,000 courses. Popular topics include:

•Project Management •Leadership
•Management •Team Building
•Finance and Accounting •Communication: written, oral, and interpersonal
•Marketing •Human Resources
•Knowledge Management •Customer Service
•Administrative Support •Personal Development

How does SkillSoft e-Learning work?

Use SkillSoft e-Learning’s search capability to easily find a course, lesson, or support materials for just about any topic. Each course includes pre-tests, so you can identify which lessons of a course you need and which portions you can skip. You can move through a course from beginning to end, or take only lessons of interest. Your individual account keeps track of courses you select and complete, and bookmarks where you stop in any course. (See the tools and resources below for more information.)
