Enhancing Workplace Creativity (Q1300)

Feeling burnt out or used up? Reigniting your creativity can help restore your drive and increase your productivity at work. Current research reveals that Americans are suffering from a "creativity deficit" due in part to increased workloads and pressures on today's employees. This research also points to creativity as a way to diminish burn-out, invigorate morale, and help people work to their best potential.

Creative thought requires an openness to new ways of looking at old problems. This course is designed to reinforce the use of creativity on the job and includes general and specific approaches to reawakening creative thinking processes. In this course, participants:

  • Explore divergent thinking (generating new ideas) and convergent thinking (combining new and old ideas for new results).
  • Discuss the barriers to creativity at work.
  • Review current research and literature on creativity in the workplace.
  • Discuss how creativity can be nurtured in workplace settings.
  • Develop an action plan for enhancing creativity on the job, as well as strategies for implementing this plan immediately.
