Punctuation: Hitting the Mark (Q1090)

Does punctuation really matter much today? What's the real purpose of punctuation and why is it important to use it correctly? And how do you know what's correct, especially when you find conflicting rules? With the hundreds of resources available in bookstores and online, how do you find the answers to your specific questions? In this workshop, participants get a practical review of punctuation rules and basics, aimed at helping them with the types of writing they do every day. The subtle and not-so-subtle ways punctuation can influence the structure, organization, intonation, rhythm, and even the meaning of a sentence are discussed. Participants learn to evaluate punctuation for stylistic choices that make writing clearer and more effective. (Participants are encouraged to bring samples of writing they use in their work situations. Writing samples are not shared in class.)

Currently we do not have any classes scheduled for this course.
