V0230: Beginning Again: Rebuilding After Layoffs

Description:

Implementing layoffs is difficult; rebuilding after layoffs can be just as hard. To ensure the health and success of your organization, remaining staff need to have strong leadership, be able to trust their leaders, and be included in moving forward.

This two hour, hands-on workshop is designed for UW managers and supervisors. Participating in the workshop will help you to:

  • Respond to the psychological transitions your staff members may experience
  • Create a plan for moving forward, using key elements of William Bridge's theory of "beginnings"
  • Review and reflect on your unit's core purpose
  • Create a picture of the future work of the unit
  • Develop a plan to make the future picture a reality
  • Create a part for everyone on the team to play in rebuilding

This is the third in a series of free layoff workshops for UW managers and supervisors. Attendance at all the workshops is not required but is strongly suggested.
