V0220: Managing Through Implementation

Description:

Created for UW managers and supervisors who have administered layoffs, this workshop provides the tools necessary to support all staff members while navigating the 60-day period from layoff notification to the end of employment. As a leader, how you navigate this sensitive time will ultimately impact the ability of your team to succeed in the future.

Through this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Apply practical tips for managing laid-off and remaining staff after a layoff notification
  • Manage in the "neutral zone," that transition period between endings and new beginnings
  • Implement the ABC's of change: acknowledge, begin, construct, and communicate
  • Explain and demonstrate techniques for dealing with remaining staff's "survivor guilt"

This is the second in a series of free layoff workshops for UW managers and supervisors. Attendance at all the workshops is not required but is strongly suggested.
