Description:
Designed for those retiring within the year, this is a "how to" workshop. Topics include retirement eligibility, notifying your department of your retirement, completing the DRS and UW retirement applications, retiree medical plan choices and enrollment, applying for Social Security and/or Medicare, handling leave balances & VEBA, and working after retirement. Small class size allows plenty of time for individual assistance. Please contact the Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) at 1-800-547-6657 to request your retirement estimate and application. All other materials will be provided in the workshop. Spouses and partners are welcome to attend.
Prerequisite:
Open to PERS participants who are planning to retire within the year.
