This course introduces the UW Faculty Benefits package and assists new faculty in their benefits selections. Since most enrollment forms are due within 31 days from an employee's eligibility date, you are urged to attend an orientation well before your enrollment deadline. This 2-hour course will cover medical/dental/life/long term disability insurance benefits, retirement & savings plans, flexible spending accounts, dependent care assistance, Hometown Homeloan program and other opportunities.If you have a UWNetID and prefer to enroll online, visit the Benefits Orientation & Enrollment site at:www.washington.edu/admin/hr/benefits/benorient/index.htmlIn addition, you may also view an online version of your benefits packet anytime. Prerequisite:
This benefits orientation is intended for new or newly-eligible faculty and academic staff who need to learn about their benefits options. To be eligible for benefits, your appointment must be a minimum of 6 consecutive months (this is 2 full consecutive quarters, with spring and fall considered consecutive), AND 50% FTE or greater, AND in an eligible job class appointment. UW Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center employees are required to attend a separate hospital orientation.
