How Calculated/FTE/How Initiated - HOW CALCULATED presents a general guide to information on how compensation is determined. The actual payment is driven by the earnings type.

FTE (Full-time Equivalency):

• Yes - produces hours as well as correct compensation
• No - produces correct compensation, but no additional hours.
• Exception is in the case of leave w/o pay (LWA and LWO) which produces no compensation, but tracks hours.

HOW INITIATED provides guidance to the department in selecting and preparing the appropriate document to initiate the desired compensation.
