BASIC FUNCTION

Perform semi-skilled painting work of graduated complexity in the institution's building, maintenance and alterations program in an on-the-job apprentice program.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Apprentice class of series.

TYPICAL WORK

Perform various painting and related duties;

Obtain, prepare and deliver materials to the job site and assist in application;

Clean up and maintain shop areas, work sites and storage areas;

Complete on-the-job and related academic painter trades training program requirements;

Perform related duties and functions as specified in approved apprentice training program;

May drive, load and unload service vehicles;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified

High school diploma or GED certificate AND meet qualification standards approved by Washington State Apprenticeship Council. May require valid State of Washington driver's license.
