BASIC FUNCTION

Independently perform complex rapid data inquiry and entry operations utilizing data entry equipment.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Senior-level class of series. Under general supervision, perform complex rapid data inquiry and data entry tasks such as installing format specifications. Incumbents perform under high volume standards, e.g., 10,000 strokes/hour.

TYPICAL WORK

Files and recovers technical material; determines and cross-references;

Advises operating and programming personnel of data entry problems in special or complex projects, such as the design of data format specifications;

Performs the duties of Data Entry Operator II;

May assist new employees in becoming familiar with department procedures and data entry projects;

May perform trainee operations in data control area.

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified

High School Diploma, or GED Certificate

AND

One year of full-time experience as a Data Entry Operator II, or equivalent.

Six months of additional relevant experience may substitute for required education.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
