BASIC FUNCTION
Perform inquiry and data entry operations utilizing data entry equipment.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Second-level class of series. Perform journey-level data entry duties such as data retrieval and modification and entering data on numeral or alphabetical data entry equipment. Incumbents perform at a minimum speed of 8,000 strokes/hour.
TYPICAL WORK
Select and prepare program set-ups;
Verify entered data and re-enter correct data;
May operate related equipment such as a reproducer, sorter, interpreter and optical reader;
May involve extensive public contact;
May perform the duties of Data Entry Operator I;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified
High School Diploma, or GED Certificate or completion of a recognized course in data entry operation; AND six months of experience as a Data Entry Operator I, or equivalent.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
