Compensation Office partners with Human Resources Operations units and UW/Medical Centers Administration to develop and administer compensation and classification programs that help the UW attract, retain, and motivate our workforce.

Compensation is responsible for:

• Providing compensation and classification expertise.
• Administering staff compensation programs.
• Developing compensation strategies.
• Providing leadership on regulatory matters relating to overtime pay.
• Partnering with Labor Relations to analyze compensation and classification issues for employees covered by union contracts.
• Advocating to Washington State Department of Personnel in Olympia for compensation and classification needs for classified non-union jobs.
• Providing training on compensation and classification related topics.
