Certain job classifications at the University of Washington are included in union shop bargaining units. As a condition of employment, employees in those job classifications are required to pay monthly dues or fees to the union. Failure to comply with the union shop requirement can result in termination of employment.
The union shop requirement may be satisfied by payment of monthly dues, payment of a monthly representation fee, or payment of a nonassociation fee.
