Article 24 Wages

24.1 First Year Wage Adjustment. Effective with the first pay period in July 2007, all officers will receive an across-the-board wage increase of 3.2%.

24.2 Second Year Wage Adjustment. Effective with the first pay period in July 2008, all officers will receive an across-the-board wage increase of 2%.

24.3 New Top Step in Second Year. In addition, on July 1, 2008 a new step (L) will be added to the officers pay table. Officers who have been at step K for at least one year as of July 1, 2008 will move to step L effective the first pay period of July 2008. Officers who have been at step K less than a year as of July 1, 2008 will move to step L upon completion of one year at step K.

24.4 Increment Increases. Officers will receive an annual salary adjustment on their periodic increment date until such time as the officer reaches the top step of the salary range. Officers shall continue to receive increment increases at the rate of two (2) steps each twelve (12) months unless they are newly hired at step A, in which case they will receive a two (2) step increase at six (6) months then two (2) steps annually thereafter.

24.5 Increment Adjustments. In support of the Department’s efforts to strengthen police officer retention, officers at step E shall receive three (3) steps on their annual increment date. Officers on step F or G as of July 1, 2007 shall be moved to step H to avoid salary inversion. The success of this change will be reviewed by the parties during the next negotiations.
