2.1 The parties individually agree that they will not engage in any act or practice or pursue any policy which is discriminatory against any employee on the basis of age, sex, marital status, status as an honorably discharged veteran, disabled veteran, or Vietnam era veteran, military status, sexual orientation, race, national origin, color, creed, religious or political beliefs or affiliation, genetic information, any real or perceived sensory, mental or physical disability, or membership in a labor organization. The parties agree that sexual harassment will not be tolerated within the workplace.
2.2 Employees are encouraged to raise complaints of unlawful discrimination through internal prescribed University complaint procedures (Administrative Policy Statement 46.3). Employees may also seek relief through the appropriate local, state, or federal agency charged with investigating such matters. Such external complaints shall not be subject to the Grievance Procedure of this Agreement; provided that nothing shall preclude an employee from filing a grievance over an alleged violation of Section 2.1 of this Agreement.
