This collective bargaining agreement has been ratified by the UW and GCIU Local 767-M, and now awaits final signatures from both parties. Meanwhile, the online contract has been updated in an effort to reflect the comprehensive agreement reached for the 2013-2015 contract term.
Section 1. Work Week:
The work week is comprised of five consecutive day, evening or night shifts, Monday through Friday.
All shifts are eight (8) hours in length except for Press, Bindery and Lithography, where the shifts are seven (7) hours in length.
The Employer will determine start and quit times. Employees whose shifts begin after 12:45pm will receive a shift differential of $. 50 cents above their hourly rate listed in Appendix A. Shift differential will be included in base overtime rate.
All time worked before or after a regularly scheduled shift shall be considered overtime except when the schedule has been requested by the employee.
A rest period of at least nine (9) hours must be given between shifts.
An employee reporting for a shift shall receive not less than the employee's pay except in the event of interruption of production because of an emergency beyond control of the University or where the employee voluntarily does not work in which case he or she shall be paid only for hours worked.
