Effective June 12, 2014, as a result of new state law, UW employees are eligible to take up to two unpaid holidays per calendar year for a reason of faith or conscience. This law became effective after the UW's labor contracts were negotiated. You can learn about the provisions of the law on the Employee Leave and Holiday web page.
