Events

Staying active throughout life is key to maintaining physical and mental health. Whether you're a long-time fitness buff or a recovering couch potato, there are a wide range of events and activities available to you at the UW.

UWalk

Join any of several types of walking groups on campus: Commute, Health, Lunch & Social, and Meetings, Classes, and Errands. UWalk holds events and activities throughout the year to promote the community of walkers on campus. For information on becoming part of a walking group, check out the details. All you'll need is your UW NetID—joining a group is free.

Blood Pressure Screenings

As a service to the UW community, the Employee Health Center at Hall Health Center is offering free blood pressure screenings to faculty and staff. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 206-685-1026.

Experimental College Wellness Classes

Health Education and Support Groups

From healing to weight loss, health education services and support groups are available to UW Medicine patients, families, and community members. Some sessions require pre-registration while others are open on a walk-in basis. All classes are free unless otherwise noted. See list.

Health and Wellness Classes at the UW Women's Center

The UW Women's Center offers a variety of classes on health, wellness, fitness, yoga, meditation, and more. Check out the current class schedule or call 206-685-1090.

Knit and Crochet for Wellness

Learn how to knit and crochet for stress relief, health and fun. Bring your own needles and yarn, or borrow some from other knitters. Laughter Therapy

Tai Chi

Weight Watchers @ Work

Weight management involves balancing food, behavior, support, and exercise. At Weight Watchers, you will be encouraged to develop healthy habits, exercise, and make smarter food choices—all in a supportive environment. Washington Park Arboretum: Free Guided Tours

Explore the Washington Park Arboretum with a guide January through November. Free public tours highlight the Arboretum’s plant collections, seasonal beauty and history. Meet at the Graham Visitors Center January through November. See schedule. No preregistration necessary.
