Counseling & Support
Many of us deal with the challenges of depression, stressful relationships, or long-term physical ailments. The following resources offer confidential counseling, workshops and other means of support for your mind, body and spirit.
Your UW
Medical Insurance
All UW-paid plans for UW faculty and staff offer mental health counseling
as well as chemical dependency coverage. Be sure to connect with your
primary physician for support and referrals.
UW CareLink
The UW's Faculty & Staff Assistance Program offers free, confidential
counseling to all benefits-eligible University employees and their families.
Hall Health Mental Health Clinic
Provides mental health services to students, faculty and staff, including assessments; individual, couple, family and group therapy; medication evaluation and management; and referrals when appropriate to other campus or community resources.
UW Counseling Center
Supports UW students in all aspects of their development. It provides personal counseling, career counseling, study skills assistance, and other services to currently-enrolled UW students. The Counseling Center also provides consultation to faculty, staff, and parents who have concerns about a student.
Spiritual Care
Offers the Harborview community of patients,
family and staff an opportunity to acknowledge the importance of the spiritual
component of health.
Graduate Medical Education Counseling Service
Available to Residents, Fellows and their spouses/life partners. A free and strictly confidential service that offers counseling for individual and couples. Concerns addressed include personal and career stress, depression and anxiety, marital discord and relationship issues, and time management.
SafeCampus
Provides information on counseling and safety resources, University policies, and violence reporting requirements that help us maintain a safe personal, work, and learning environment.
UW Women's Center
Offers a safe space and point of contact for students and community members in addressing sensitive issues in their lives, such as domestic violence, sexual assault, depression and eating disorders. The UW Women's Center houses a large collection of resources that enable the staff to connect those in need with appropriate services.
Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Information Service
SARIS is a confidential, free program for students who are victims/survivors of sexual assault or relationship violence and friends, family, and significant others seeking information about sexual assault and relationship violence.
Health and Wellness
Holistic development and support of students and providing a variety of services to help students get the most out of their college experience. Health and Wellness staff also work directly with students who may need a higher level of support and individual attention. By providing consultation, assessment, and intervention services, Health and Wellness can assist students in times of need through direct service and/or referral. Health and Wellness works with students, families, faculty and staff in difficult situations, when multiple services are needed, to provide a safe and supportive response.

UW's Counseling Center provides a list of resources on eating disorders. An eating disorder is not just about problematic eating, body weight, and
dieting; it's much more. You can begin
to eat successfully...and normally.
