Non-Network Referral Service

The GAIP plan allows you and your enrolled, eligible dependents to seek medical treatment wherever you please. However, your cost when using a non-network provider is higher than if you see a network provider. Please review the plan book and summaries for more information on the network providers and the differences in benefits.

Starting Fall Quarter 2011

If you need services from a non-network provider or facility, you are covered. Before seeking care, contact LifeWise to find a contracted provider in your location. If you use a contracted provider, you will not have to pay any amount over the allowable charge.

Locate a LifeWise contracted provider by accessing http://www.student.lifewiseac.com/uw/gaip/ or by calling Customer Service.

Prior to Fall Quarter 2011

If you need non-emergency services outside of western Washington, you may wish to use Beech Street referral service. If you use this service, you may be able to find a provider who will cost less, but there is no guarantee. Beech Street providers in most cases are considered non-network providers.
