The University of Washington Benefits Fairs give UW employees the opportunity to explore their healthcare and insurance options. This is especially useful to employees who are thinking of changing their medical or dental coverage for the 2009 plan year. In general, these changes must be made during the open enrollment period unless there is a qualifying life event. Open enrollment begins October 27 and ends November 30, 2008 with changes becoming effect on January 1, 2009.
