State of Washington regulations require that all business airfare for UW travelers be purchased through a State contract travel agency, State contract internet provider, booking directly with any airlines' website or directly calling any airline. You must purchase tickets with either your individual UW Travel Charge Card or a department CTA . Use minority/women owned businesses whenever possible from the list below.
Discount airfare tickets for international routes only may be purchased from an air travel wholesaler who is not a contract travel agency if the following conditions are met:
Due to the airlines imposing a mandatory booking fee that was effective September 1, 2006, Boersma Travel Services has been granted a $2.55 per booking price increase, effective October 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006. The booking fee for online services will be increased to $7.55. The $18.00 fee for agent assisted will not be increased.
All other contract travel agency booking fees remain the same.
Boersma Travel is the only state authorized internet provider approved for booking on-line UW travel arrangements. You may book on-line for UW airline tickets, hotels, and car rentals. You must "Register with University of Washington" (one time registration) on-line (upper right hand corner) prior to booking your first UW travel arrangements.The straight $7.55 fee includes any UW travel arrangements made on-line. The site provides state contract fares and low internet fares.
Once you have registered, you will be required to login each time you are booking UW travel arrangements. Logging into the system provides you access to the state contract fares. Your login requires your full email address along with the password you used during your registration process. Contact Boersma for assistance or questions.

Travel agencies that have a contract with the State for the period 1/01/06 - 12/31/06 are listed below. These qualified Travel Agencies are listed under the Office of State Procurements contract that travelers can use in making air travel arrangements. As you will notice, the Travel Agencies can now charge for services once considered free to state travelers such as consultation fees, quotes, and hotel reservations. Be sure to compare pricing and select the agency that best fits your department's needs.
Add the service fees to the airfare for reimbursement. Do not list the fee(s) separately on the TEV.
