Car Insurance Coverage


The Enterprise corporate account/customer number 45WA033 coverage applies only to rentals in the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and includes:

University travelers should try to rent from Enterprise under the State of Washington contract. This contract provides coverage if the rental vehicle is damaged and liability coverage. This coverage applies regardless of the method of payment for the rental vehicle. Damage exceeding these limits are covered by the University of Washington's liability program which provides coverage for property damage or bodily injury to other party or parties only excluding damage to the rental vehicle.

CDW/LDW is reimbursable if you accidentally accepted this type of insurance. In the future, decline the CDW/LDW because it is included in the state contract. Accepting any other type of insurance is your personal responsibility and is not reimbursable.

  • Decline the collision/loss damage insurance. The UW Travel Charge Card coverage is voided if you accept the collision/loss damage or any other insurance through the car rental agency. Any fees or deductible due to an accident and resulting from accepting any insurance through the rental agency is your personal responsibility and is not reimbursable.

  • The UW Travel Charge Card does not provide coverage for vehicles rented in Israel, Jamaica, Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland. Accept the collision/loss damage insurance for rentals in these locations.

*Pursuant to RCW 28b.20.253 and .255, the University will provide legal defense and indemnification for employees acting within the course and scope of their duties and volunteer workers and students while acting at the direction or request of the University. Coverage for injuries to UW employees is provided through Labor and Industries (workers compensation). Injuries to non-UW individuals and students should be submitted to their personal health insurance companies.
