Training for Mentors and Mentees

A day-long training for mentors and mentees is scheduled on April 16, 2007
from 8:30 AM– 4 PM in the lower level conference room at the UW Club.
The training will be facilitated by Ruth Johnston, QI champion in Financial Management.

This will be a time to get to know your mentor/mentee, share experiences, explore values, and establish goals for the relationship. In addition to growing the mentoring relationship, the day will include a section on diversity awareness.

• Qualities of Good Mentors / Mentees
• Success Factors and What You Wish You’d Known about FM discussion
• Goal Setting and EDP
• Considering and Embracing Diversity—becoming culturally competent

Instructor:
Ruth Johnston 
Ruth Johnston, Ph.D, offers a variety of training workshops in mentoring,
leadership development, strategic planning, transition management
and organization development. She works at the University of Washington
where she serves as Associate Treasurer for Quality and Communications and
Assistant Controller for Student Fiscal Services. From 1989–1994 she served
as Manager of UW Training and Development where she was responsible
for planning and delivering classes, customized training and organizational
development services.
