Developer Connection 2.0

The Developer Connection 2.0 project is intended to provide networking and professional development opportunities and common collaboration tools to UW developers by leveraging existing communities of interest and special interest groups. Among the groups showcased at BizTech are:

  • The Web Application Security Peer Working Group (WASP) is a cross-UW group established to promote Web application security at the university.

  • The Developer Architecture Working Group (DAWG) helps architect first-class applications to ensure the best possible university computing experience. The DAWG's primary focus is on development with and the operation of Microsoft technologies such as Windows, .NET, SQLServer, Visual Studio, C#, VB.NET and VB.

  • The Web Services User Group is interested in delivering web services and developing a Service Oriented Architecture at the UW. The group has developed a number of services and a prototype web service registry. They are participating in strategic SOA discussions with OIM leadership.
