Keymapping Issues

Keynes requires special keyboard instructions to function properly. These instructions come with the secure telnet programs in the UWICK.

The most common problems from missing or incorrect keyboard instructions include the "Send" key not working, and the "Home" key displaying garbage characters.

Keymapping problems can be fixed by re-installing secure telnet software. You can find software for Windows and Macintosh computers in the UWICK Contents listing.

Correct Window Display

Keynes requires that Better Telnet use a window size of 80 by 24 letters. If the window is resized, it may not display information correctly, or parts of the Keynes screen may be hidden.

Display problems can be fixed by resetting the screen display:

Select the Session pulldown menu
Choose Screen size
Lines should read "24" and Columns should read "80"
Click OK
Move the scrollbar on the right side all the way to the bottom.

This should fix display problems immediately, but you may need to close and re-open the window.

Changing the Font Size

To make the font in Better Telnet larger or smaller, do the following:

Select the Edit pulldown menu
Choose Terminal...
A new window will come up. Highlight Keynes Terminal and click "Change".
Click on the Font tab at the top. You can make the font larger or smaller by changing the font size.

You can also choose a new font style and colors in this window, but some may be less readable than others.
