Affirmative Action Program

by authority of Executive Order No. 4)


1.   Program Overview

The University of Washington, as a federal contractor, is required to maintain an affirmative action program. This program is supported by the President of the University of Washington. The Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs is charged with ensuring compliance with the affirmative action program. The Assistant Provost for Equal Opportunity supervises the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action and oversees preparation and maintenance of, and compliance with the program. The University's policies on nondiscrimination and affirmative action (Executive Order No. 31) can be found in the University Handbook, Volume 4, Part I, Chapter 2.
