The University of Washington, School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Genetics is seeking an academic full-time (100% FTE) Assistant or Associate Professor (without tenure)on the clinician/teacher pathway. The Medical Genetics Clinic at the University of Washington is one of the largest adult medical genetics clinics in the country, and currently has approximately 1400 visits per year. The fastest growing group of referrals is for cancer genetics, but neurogenetics, connective tissue genetics, and dermatological genetics, as well as general genetics are important parts of the population served. The position includes patient care and teaching; hence, the applicant must have evidence of clinical excellence and be committed to clinical teaching of medical students and residents. However, there will be ample opportunities for clinical research and basic research collaboration with numerous School of Medicine faculty whose expertise span all fields of biomedical research with exceptional expertise in molecular genetics, genomics and computational biology. The applicant must be an MD who is Board-certified or Board-eligible in Clinical Genetics. The successful applicant will take on a leadership position in the Medical Genetics clinic and clinical training program. . University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
