DURATION: As early as October 1, 2008 but no later than December 1, 2008 and extending 2 years after
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
TENURE ELIGIBILITY: Non-tenure

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position in traffic engineering in Transportation Northwest, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Washington. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in traffic engineering and/or computer science or a related field. The successful candidate should have a strong background and demonstrated research ability in traffic flow theory, traffic simulation models, statistical analysis, and data management. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a fundamental course in traffic engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering during Winter quarter, 2009 and will be expected have experience with traffic simulation models such as VISSIM. An ability to write interface programs for such models is desired.
