Position Details


Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position to work with Professor George Wallerstein at the University of Washington starting September 1, 2008.  The successful applicant should be proficient in the fields of high resolution stellar spectroscopy and stellar model atmospheres.  The main project will be to compare theory and observations of Paschen lines in stellar spectra, with emphasis on high luminosity stars. There may be an opportunity to investigate other problems in stellar atmospheres.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Astronomy, Physics, or a closely related field.
