Clinical Teaching and Supervision

Position:                       The University of Washington, Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences is searching to fill a .5, non-tenure-track Clinical Instructor position,  primarily dedicated to the supervision of graduate students in clinical practice.  We are seeking an individual with at least three years experience working in medical settings with adults with acquired cognitive/communication impairments.  Experience in supervising graduate students in a university or clinical setting is desirable.  In addition to supervision, individuals will be expected to participate on departmental committees and may have opportunities to teach didactic courses.

Qualifications:               Applicants must be certified in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, eligible for Washington State licensure and must have a Master’s degree.

 

Department:                  The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington awards Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Audiology Doctorate, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. There are over 30 faculty members in the department. The University of Washington is a major metropolitan institution of higher learning that includes a large, regional School of Medicine. Facilities:                      The Department facilities support its clinical, educational and research missions; the Speech & Hearing Clinic is equipped for the delivery of state-of-the-art services and clinical training.  The Department is located within walking distance of the School of Medicine.

 

Salary:                          Base salary for a nine-month academic year is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience; summer employment is usually possible; a full range of fringe benefits is available.

Starting Date:                September 15, 2007
