University of Washington Bothell seeks a University Lecturer to teach mathematics to first and second year students in our growing and innovative curriculum. An MA/MS in mathematics or related areas and one year of teaching experience is required (with at least two years strongly preferred). The appointment is initially a two year, full-time, nine month term based on the academic year with the expectation of renewal. The position will be administratively based in the appropriate Academic Program.  Successful candidates will provide dynamic, engaged, and inquiry-based teaching oriented primarily toward lower division students. Successful candidates must be committed to working with diverse student and community populations.  All University faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research and service.

The Bothell campus of the University of Washington is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Seattle.  UW Bothell serves approximately 2500 traditional and non-traditional students and also offers degrees in Business, Computing and Software Systems, Education, Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, Science & Technology and Nursing.  Since its opening in 1990, UWB has offered creative, interdisciplinary curricula, and a dynamic community of multicultural teaching.  It is presently engaged in planning for significant outreach to a wider region in the North Puget Sound and internationally, and anticipates continuing growth in programs and enrollment.  For more information on UW Bothell, visit the campus Web site at http://www.uwb.edu.
