CRIMINAL JUSTICE- ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

The Social Work Program at the University of Washington Tacoma announces the availability of a full-time position at the rank of assistant professor in Criminal Justice beginning September 16, 2010. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service and are expected to participate in lower division teaching.
In the winter of 2009, the University of Washington, Tacoma, began an innovative Criminal Justice minor. Housed within the Social Work Program, we plan on implementing a proposed B.A. in Criminal Justice in the fall of 2010. This exciting new program has tremendous community and faculty support and student demand. The innovative curriculum encourages community partnerships, diversity, systems thinking, and skill development.

Qualifications
Doctorate in criminal justice, criminology, administration of justice, social work or a closely related field, with training in one or more aspects of criminal justice is required. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to engage in meaningful and productive research, excellent teaching, and development of community partnerships. Must have experience in teaching a variety of criminal justice courses.
