Position Details


The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington invites applications or nominations for a tenure-track faculty position to begin September 16, 2010. The Department is seeking at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.  We are a faculty of 15 with 65 graduate students and 130 undergraduates (juniors and seniors only). This position is part of a $100M+ cross-cutting initiative in Molecular Engineering and Science at the University of Washington.  The Department plays a leading role in the development of the educational and research programs that will take advantage of a new interdisciplinary research building slated for completion in 2012. Applications in the areas of molecular energy processes, living systems and biomolecular processes, molecular aspects of materials and interfaces, and molecular electronics or related fields will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate outstanding potential for high impact research as judged, in part, by their publication record. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Candidates will be expected to provide innovative and quality teaching that integrates molecular and nanoscale principles of research and education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. degree is required.
