The Institute of Technology at the University of Washington Tacoma is seeking candidates to fill two, full time Lecturer positions, beginning September 16, 2008. These positions will be filled at the Senior Lecturer or Full Time Lecturer ranks depending on qualifications. The initial contract for these positions is for one year, with the possibility of renewal to another one to three year contract.
Candidates for these positions must have a minimum of a master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment. The successful candidate at the senior lecturer level will have a strong teaching record at the college or university level in computer science or engineering and the successful candidate at the lecturer level should have demonstrated experience teaching computer science courses at the freshman or sophomore level.
Candidates for these positions will be expected to teach at least eight courses per year and must be able to teach a variety of undergraduate computer science or engineering courses, specifically introductory and intermediate programming, data structures, algorithms, large software system design/programming, and discrete structures or introductory circuits, logic design, electronics, and linear systems.
