The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and Harborview Medical Center are seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position at the clinical assistant, clinical associate, or clinical professor level. Harborview Medical Center, owned by King County and managed by the University of Washington, is a 413 bed, Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center. Harborview is the only Level I trauma center in the Pacific Northwest, serving all of Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Position responsibilities include the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with emphasis on the surgical management of maxillofacial traumatic injury, clinical and didactic teaching of residents and undergraduate dental students in a hospital-based clinical environment, and participation in scholarly activities in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Qualifications for this position include a DDS/DMD or equivalent degree, completion of an ADA-accredited residency training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and eligibility for licensure in the state of Washington. Applicants with clinical experience in the management of patients with complex maxillofacial trauma, previous teaching experience, and record of achievement through research and scholarly publications will be given favorable consideration. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with training credentials, and academic/clinical experience. This is a non-tenure, multi-year appointment subject to renewal.
