Title: Clinical Associate Professor-Dental Pathway

The department of Oral Medicine is seeking applicants for a full time position as Director of Predoctoral Training. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical teaching in the predoctoral dental educational curriculum of the department and teaching in the graduate Oral Medicine curriculum. Administrative duties include directing the predoctoral clinical curriculum and the Emergency/Urgent Care Clinic which is one of the clinical services of the department. Participation in clinical research will also be required as will providing patient care as a clinical attending in the Oral Medicine Clinical Service which provides care to complex patients referred for management of chronic orofacial pain, salivary disorders, and oral lesions. Knowledge and expertise in the following areas is required: physical and oral assessment methods, diagnosis and management of dental emergencies, treatment planning, diagnosis and management of diseases of the oral mucosa, salivary disorders, and the oral manifestations of systemic disease. Requirements for the position include: a DDS or DMD degree, a Washington State Dental License, advanced education in Oral Medicine preferably with an MSD in Oral Medicine along with diplomat eligibility or status in Oral Medicine, significant experience in predoctoral dental education, and some record of clinical research and scholarship as demonstrated by authorship on scientific manuscripts. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, service and patient care. The position is full time with teaching, patient care, didactic, and administrative responsibilities. Rank will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the applicant but experience and education that match the minimum requirements for appointment as a clinical associate professor-dental pathway is preferred.
