Position Details


The Department of Oral Medicine is seeking applicants for the Director of the General Practice Residency (GPR) Program.  Responsibilities include: administrative management of the GPR including selection of residents, development and administration of the didactic curriculum and clinical rotations of the residents, regular clinical supervision of residents during their rotation through the Hospital Dental and in-patient care programs at the university, maintaining liaison with the other GPR clinical training sites, and supervision of the resident evaluation process.  Additional responsibilities include: directing the in-patient dental service at the University Hospital and supervising resident care of patients in the Hospital Dentistry clinic and the Hospital Dental in-patient service.  Direct delivery of care in those two setting is also part of the responsibilities of the position.  Applicants must have a Washington State Dental License and meet requirements for appointment to the dental staff of University Hospital.  In addition a minimum of three years or more of post doctoral training in General Dentistry through completion of a two year GPR or Advanced Education in General Dentistry program is required.  Applicants with additional post-doctoral education in general dentistry or Special Patient Care beyond the minimum 2 - year level will receive additional consideration.  University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, service and patient care.  The position is full time with teaching, patient care, didactic, and administrative responsibilities.  Rank will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the applicant but experience and education that match the minimum requirements for appointment as a clinical assistant professor is preferred.
