Checklist Item: Training is available to web designers on how to create accessible web content

NOTE: Each link on this page will open in a new window.

At most educational institutions, web development is highly decentralized, and content is developed by a wide variety of individuals, including teachers and faculty, technical staff, library staff, administrative staff, and students.

It is possible to create web content that is highly accessible to all users. Well-established standards and techniques exist that make this possible. However, many web authors are unaware of these techniques and even unaware that web accessibility is a problem.

For these reasons, it is critical that training on accessible web design be systematically provided to anyone who is creating web content for your educational entity.
