IT Accessibility Checklist Help

Checklist Item: There are quiet work and/or meeting areas where noise and other distractions are minimized, or facility rules are in place (e.g., no cell phone use) to minimize noise.

NOTE: Each link on this page will open in a new window.

Many individuals have difficulty concentrating in noisy or distracting environments. Noise is particularly problematic for individuals with learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, or psychiatric disabilities. Also, if a computer user requires speech recognition technology to operate the computer and dictate documents, this technology performs poorly in noisy environments.
