Accessibility issue: Presentation of tabular information
Please confirm that you have loaded the following AU page: phys.html

Pages like this one are often required reading for college students, as online course timetables are replacing their paper-based predecessors. The content of these pages is typically generated dynamically from a large database of university course information. The information appears on the screen as text, which isn't in and of itself inaccessible. However, the layout of the text makes it difficult for users to ascertain the meaning of the variables, particularly if they scroll down far enough to have lost sight of the headings at the top. A long string of obscure text can be particularly challenging for people using screen readers.

Fortunately, database-driven web sites are technically easier to retrofit than are static HTML pages, since the developers only have to make their revisions once, to the underlying template that is used to build all pages. The difficulty is often in persuading relevant decision makers to pursue such a retrofit.

After showing this inaccessible example, follow the link at the bottom of the page to Accessible Version.
