The Information Technology Technical Assistance and Training Center (ITTATC) maintains a web page called Overview of State Accessibility Laws, Policies, Standards and Other Resources Available On-line, which links to legislation, standards, guidelines, procedures, and other resources related to accessibility of state websites, application development, information technology procurement, and hardware. This information is useful to states and other organizations that wish to compare their laws, policies, and standards to others or who are in the beginning stages of developing them.
Many states use the Section 508 standards developed for the U.S. federal government by the Access Board or the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines of the international World Wide Web Consortium; some use a combination of the two or develop their own standards.
