Registering is the first step in voting. If you are new to voting follow the links below. You may vote in Washington State or vote absentee out of state. Contact your state elections office for more details.
To register to vote you must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- At least 18 years old by election day
- A legal resident of Washington State (if voting in Washington State)
- Have full voting rights to participate (click here for more information)
- Check here to see if you are registered
How to register to vote in Washington State:
- Go to the Secretary of State website.
- Print out the voter registration form
- Fill it out and mail it to (address is also on the form):

How to register if you want to keep your registration outside of Washington:
- Go to the
National Mail Voter Registration Form

- Print the registration form
