Collaboration Resources
On the new Office of Research Fostering Research Collaboration website, researchers can access a host of tools, templates, databases, and other resources, including:
Scopus
http://www.scopus.com
Open to all faculty, students, and staff with a UW NetID
Search and gather data from Scopus ®, the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality web sources. The UW Office of Research coordinated this subscription with the Libraries. Continuing access will depend on evaluation and funding.
Husky SciVal Experts
www.experts.scival.com/uwashington
Public site available to all
Husky SciVal Experts is a faculty expertise search tool available to all faculty, graduate students, post docs, and staff to identify UW faculty with specific areas of expertise based on their publications and grants. The Information displayed is based on scientific and technical publications indexed in the Scopus database as well as information on funded grants (NIH grants only at this time).
Husky SciVal Experts for Members*
www.experts.scival.com/uwashington
Available to UW faculty subscribed by their school/college dean
For members, Husky SciVal Experts builds a profile (including auto updates) based on publication and grant information, and creates a fingerprint of each experts’ research expertise. It also allows the expert to extend their profile by adding in information, such as research activities, education, grant information, etc.*For the initial launch of Husky SciVal Experts, a sub-set of total UW faculty was chosen by school/college deans for inclusion, and an individual membership was purchased. If your profile is not included, but you are interested in being a part of Husky SciVal Experts, please contact your dean’s office. Edits and additions of faculty data (including inclusion of new faculty) will be made quarterly.
Note: This tool is not useful for the arts and humanities because it is based on technical and scientific journals and publications in the Scopus database, which does not cover arts and humanities.
SciVal Funding

At this time, the service is provided by the Office of Research at no charge.
